How did it all start?
0ur development of the "The TranzAlpine™ Train" & Country Explorer started in 1991 with the upgrading of a route through the rugged high country of Flock Hill Sheep Station to four wheel drive standard and the building of specialized equipment.

This route was initially used by the Maori and early European settlers previously only accessible by foot or on horseback.

Finally after five years of development this adventure became operational in December 1996 and has been providing this unique experience for visitors with exclusive access into an area inaccessible to the public.

"Every tour carries our personal guarantee of friendly, informative and professional service!"
